I graduated college from Illinois State University. GO REDBIRDS! I have known that I wanted to be a teacher since I was in 3rd grade. This is my 13th year at Hawthorn. I began my career here as an instructional assistant at Elementary South. After a year there, I was hired to teach 4th grade at Elementary North. I taught 4th grade for 5 years, and then moved up to 5th grade for one year. I then made the journey across the parking lot to Middle North and I am very happy to be here teaching 6th grade for my sixth year. I absolutely love my job, and I'm so excited to be at Middle North to continue doing what I love.
Personal Life
I grew up in Crystal Lake, IL. I love spending time with my four nieces and one nephew along with the rest of my family. I enjoy watching the Bears, Cubs, Bulls, and Blackhawks as often as possible. I have a wife of 8 years named Jenifer and a dog named Otis. We had our first child, Evelyn Lou Stewart, on November 18, 2017. She is an incredible little lady! I love to play sports, especially golf, softball, and volleyball. Also, I enjoy playing the guitar in my free time.
